If it's not on the list, then it's not legal.

Congratulations, you've answered your own question. Since neither the spell description nor permanency specify that you can use permanency on Animal Growth, you can't.

The Dm is allowed to add additional spells that are affected by Permanency, but currently nope.

oo.. kay.. bummer..

thanks for all the responses guys..

but this leads me to the follow-up question...

WHY NOT???

i mean, permanency allows for the Enlarge Person spell, so it is allowable that a humanoid can be enlarged, but the spell that makes animals enlarged is a no-go??? that doesnt make much sense..

i understand that the spell gives a couple of extra abilities, namely the DR, and the save bonuses, which are great... but it seems crazy that there is no way to enlarge an animal, permanently.

come on fellas.. some more help??

Enlarge person is very differenet in the effect compared to animal growth. A much better analogy would be to compare it to righteous might which can't be made permanent either. Reaserching a lower level (2nd level druid/ranger spell I'd say) spell that did the same thing as enlarge person to animals (still just one) would be a fair spell. The higher spell level would be because animals often get more attacks and benefit out of the damage die increase, in addition to generally being hindered by the oversized equipment less than a person would. This is a 2nd level druid spell I would put on the list of potential permanent spells.
