If I used Major image to create an extremely dense cloud of loudly swirling pollen (blocking vision, hearing, and smell), would I and any party members who made their save be able to sneak attack enemies inside the area (provided they fail their saves)? And if I stop concentrating, would the motionless cloud still block vision?

For that matter, has WoTC released any DETAILED guidelines for the Image Spells? Can I make an army of illusions with Permanent Image, provided their in the area? Do I make disguise checks to see how accurate Illusionary creatures are?

I believe the answer is "yes," seeing as I've often seen tell of people using an Image to create a bag over an opponent's head (rendering them effectively blind, which removes your dex bonus).

Another fantastic use of images is to "encase yourself" in a tree or large rock, and then get the suprise round for attacking, and then returning to the rock or tree immediately after (spring attack). If your fast enough, and your DM is kind enough, it creates a subtle havoc.

illusions are imagination based if your DM is very imaginative they are almost too powerful, if they lack any imagination then illusions fail to shine.
I like to use major image to pretnd I'm summoning things like a massive swarm of insects, it makes the enemy (if they are smart) think I am more powerful than I really am and that I'm toying with them. if they are uneducated in magic then it does what it's supposed to by blinding deafening and clogging up their noses...

Thanks a lot for the answers! I'm thinking about playing a Rogue with a few levels of Wizard in our next campaign.

Here are some more questions for the Illusion School:

- Does saving against the illusion nullify every effect of the figment?
- What exactly does disbelieving a Projected Image do?
- Does a swarm count as a creature for the Image spells?
- What happens to Invisible items that are attacked with or thrown?
- If I attack with a Disguise Self'd Greatspear made to look like a shortsword, would it affect my attack at all?
- Can I make an illusion of my party? Possibly using more than one Image spell?
- Could the areas of two Permanent Images be connected?
- Can I change the actions of my Permanent Image every round with concentration?

I really wish Complete Arcane covered this.

Nullify what effects? If you realise an illusion is false, then you do not suffer any game effects from it. You can still recognise it and the sensory aspects of it, but they do not inhibit you in any way. I'm not sure without reading the spell. The obvious answer is that you realise that it is an illusion and so can start trying to dispel it or find the caster. Well, probably, but it's kind of irrelevant - see question below. I think they remain invisible (although I could be wrong about that), but there is no game effect from that RAW. No. You can't normally use more than one Image spell convincingly to make multiple reactive creatures, because you need to spend a standard action concentrating on the first one. You can however specify the illusion you create with just one Image spell to be "of the party". Possibly. I presume you mean to make, say, a longer wall. No problem with static objects, just treat each section as a separate spell. If you're trying to make moving objects or creatures, there's technically nothing to stop you but if someone disbelieves one spell they're likely to get at least a +4 bonus to disbelieve the other spell if they don't do so automatically, according to the DM. I don't think so. If you could, it would be specified in the spell description (although I don't have my books with me).

They couldn't deny someone their Dex bonus, unless they feint (which would just really be you feinting), and that would only apply to the images attacks of nothing.

They could flank though, which usually will suffice for any reasons you'd want someone denied their dex bonus.
