Can "Detect Evil" detect the aura of an invisible creature? [Archive] - Wizards Community

I just have a quick question...

Since a person who is invisible cannot be seen, can their evil aura be detected by detect evil?

Invisibilty only conceals a creature from sight. That is to say that it alters light around the creature. Auras, are not concealed.

Yes. First round, you would detect the presence of evil within the area. However, it takes three rounds of concentration to pin-point a source -- assuming that the source doesn't keep moving -- so it isn't a good way to defend against an invisible opponent. However, it can alert you to their presense.
