can good clerics cast inflict spells? [Archive] - Wizards Community

06-24-05, 08:50 PM Im confused in the matter of picking a energy typ as a cleric. Is it saying that becouse you cast cure spells you cant cast spells such as inflict at all? And same for if you cast inflict spells can you cast cure spells at all? I am much fuddled up in this question and i would like for my cleric to very much be able to use harm :rant: It may just be Im a noober but any :help:

06-24-05, 08:57 PM You can cast Harm/Inflict Spells if your good aligned yes. You just can't spontaneously cast them like you can cure spells. The reverse is true with Evil clerics who can cast inflict spells spontaneously but not cure spells. And by spontaneously I mean you can lose a spell of that level to cast the Inflict/Cure spell without having to prepare it.

No, you can't spontanously cast cure if you can spontanously cast Inflict.

An evil Cleric can cast cure spells, but can't spintanously use up a prepared slot for a cure spell. Because Evil clerics normally are more proficienct with negative energy they spontanously cast inflict.

I know it can be confusing.

06-24-05, 10:29 PM Thanks for the help it cleared up alot of confusion about that now i can go be evi..good in our sestion MWUAHAHAHAH! :angelhide :schemes: :devil: Just aother question on cleric spells. what do they mean by cant cast spells of apposite alignment? i get the good/evil part but does it count for lawful and chaotic too? that would be kinda lame.

06-24-05, 10:47 PM Yep - it absolutely counts for the law/chaos axis of alignment. Why should a Lawful cleric be able to cast a [Chaotic] spell?
