I'm not putting this on the Optimisation boards cause I'm not trying to 'twink' it.

We're playing 3.0, but with some 3.5 stuff

Connor, Chaotic Good Human, Lv 4 Sorc
Stats
Str 10
Dex 16
Con 18 (thanks to toad familiar and ring of +1 Con)
Wis 14
Int 16
Cha 18
(yes, I rolled really well)

Feats:
Energy Substitution - Sonic
Arcane Preparation
Co-Operative Spell

My character concept is that Connor is an advocate of freedom, he believes that everyone and everything should be free to do as they wish. This extends to things like Magic, he thinks of magic as at least a semi-conscious 'entity', that is chained by the use of genstures and phrases, and he seeks a way to cast spells without the need for these components, or at least to relax them.

I was originally going for mage of the arcane order from Tome and Blood, but I got complete arcane and decided that Wild mage was more fitting. My GM however didn't let me switch the pre-req feats, so my plan is this -->

Lv 5 - Sorc
Lv 6 - Mage of the Arcane Order - Pick up Arcane Mastery
Lv 7 onwards - Wild mage

Means that most of my feats are going to be clogged up with pre-res for PrC, but what do people think of the build/concept? Any advice?

My character concept is that Connor is an advocate of freedom, he believes that everyone and everything should be free to do as they wish.

This, I would say, makes him Chaotic Neutral rather than Chaotic Good. Unless you mean to clarify it that he believes everyone and everything should be free to do any good thing they wish.

Otherwise, what if a person really likes to needlessly torture and inflict pain on others? That's evil, and your character should be opposed to evil actions, being good, yet if that's what the evil ones wish to do, it should be permitted... Even if you say that the creatures they're inflicting pain on aren't wanting to have pain inflicted on them, so your character would still oppose the pain-causing actions, it doesn't work, because good actions can have the same kind of effect - keeping people alive and healthy when they might not want to be, protecting good by killing off the forces of evil and things like that...

Yeah. I suggest CN. ^_^ *shrugs* Although I can't quite explain what I mean, I suppose.

Dont worry, I get what you mean :)

He believes that everyone should be free to do what they wish, but it's more a nobody should be restrained/confined against their will unless they have done something that loses them that right (he still believes that those who murder innocents etc should be locked up).
However, he also disagrees with torture and all the "standard evil acts" yadda yadda, so he opposes them.

"People should be free, but I'm free to oppose them if they're doing something I believe is wrong/takes freedom away from others, then I'm free to oppose them."

That make sense?
