Can someone help me make a spell? [Archive] - Wizards Community

06-25-07, 01:32 PM I am looking to make a spell that works similar to simulacrum.

i want it to allow the caster to see through the constucts eyes.
I want the spell to be a necromancy- involving a corpse ( of the same type as the thing being replicated)

could someone help me out here? i assume it would be 8th level (level 9 would be ok if there was a higher max level that can be created)

06-25-07, 02:24 PM Looks like you're doing just fine on your own so far. Stat it up in the format of a spell (like in the SRD or the PHB) and ask for more evaluation.

Casting time: 30 minutes/ HD created
Range: Touch
Target: um, corpse touched?
Duration: permanent until destroyed
Saving Throw: none
Spell Resistance: no (harmless)

By placing a fresh corpse ( no more then 48 hours old) into a specially prepared circle, the caster creates a duplicate of a desired being. The corpse must be of the same type (dragon, monsterous humanoid ect.) and the same size. The creature has HD equal to it's own original HD or 1/2 the caster level+1 for every 2 levels above the minimum to cast the spell.
All special abilities of the copied creature are present however, they are figured at the new HD ( creating a fake Asherdalon the great red wyrm would require the corpse of another half-fiend red dragon and would produce a much smaller version of the beast)
Class levels can be modified to fit the way the caster percieves the character- for example- if he thinks the original was a conjurer- but was actually a cleric- the new form will be a conjuration specialist.
Finally, by standing in the magical circle, the caster can MAGIC JAR himself into the corpse for 1 minute a day or use clairvoyance/clairaudience for as long as desired. after the magic jar effect ends, the casted is fatigued for 1 hour, and nausios for 10 minutes.

the spell requires a fresh corpse as stated above, a magical circle that costs 1000 gp to create ( though it can be used multiple times) the spell drains off some of the casters own life forc to power the spell. In addition to the materials above it also costs 100 xp/ level
