Can't find this spell... [Archive] - Wizards Community

10-19-05, 01:35 AM I'm looking for a spell I saw in one of the WotC sourcebooks (we don't really use any third party materials), and I just can't remember which one...

The spell creates a spring of fresh water. That's about it, IIRC. My group has decided to finally make a base of operations, and that spell would come in handy.

If anyone knows the spell I'm talking about, please help ;) Thanks in advance.

10-19-05, 02:33 AM There is a spell called Sweet Water in Defenders of the Faith(pg. 90) that will make a well from a naturally occuring source of water if one is close by, but I don't know of any that will actually *create* a source of water.

Yeah, I know about that one, but thanks anyways... But I could've sweared I saw the one that created an actual spring of fresh water... I went through all the books we have, both general and FRCS, and couldn't find it...

I must have imagined it, then. There's no other explanation :P

I guess sweet water will have to do.

I guess sweet water will have to do.

Think it's called "Water from the rock" or something similar where part of the casting is to hit the "spring" area with a staff.

Basically it creates a mini portal to the plane of water that water flows out of until plugged or dispelled as a "continuous spring" with the caster able to control how much water comes out per minute.

10-21-05, 02:07 PM Save up a little money and then buy (or make) a Decaunter of Endless Water. Makes for a great central fountain when on Geyser mode. Just make sure you can Soviern Glue the thing down or someone could steal it.

(I don't think it's in a TSR book.)
3rd or 4th level... on the Druid and Cleric lists...

Thanks, but that's not it. I've never seen the books you mention, let alone read them, so the spell can't possibly from there.

A this point, I'm thinking of writing up the spell myself, but I love things to be nice and official ;)

I think It's in the "Wizard's Compendium" series, though I only read it in Borders and didn't actually buy the book so I don't know the Stats off hand but it is "official" :P

The "Sweet water" spell mentioned in another post has 2 modes where you can create water into a area or purify existing water so it is a possible option though it wouldn't be a "spring fed" food.

Likewise, a decanter of Endless water is related to the spell we can't seem to remember the details to except the "gate" to the Plane of water is in the Decanter so the Druid using such a device to have a continual spring fed pool and water fall using Geyser mode,etc is possible. (In fact I think the Spell is used to create the decanter)
