What spell is it that allows you to "raise" an undead creature to what they were before they were undead?

I.E., a fighter gets turned into a mummy

Mummy says "Rawr"

Mummy gets "This Spell I can't remember"

Mummy is an alive fighter again.

Raise dead brings you back to life. Animate dead creates undead.

Right, but Raise dead can't be used on things that have been made into undead critters, right?

I'm looking for a version of Raise Dead (resurrection, etc) that allows undead critters as a target

Under the description of the Undead type.
—Not affected by raise dead and reincarnate spells or abilities. Resurrection and true resurrection can affect undead creatures. These spells turn undead creatures back into the living creatures they were before becoming undead.

So if you could come up with a standard action, single-use item that res'd one target, you'd have a really good weapon for dealing with liches, mummies, vampires, etc.

It doesn't quite do what you're describing, but might you be thinking of undeath to death?

I'm pretty sure you have to "kill" an undead creature before you can restore them to life.

there was a second edition spell tha tdid this, but the target had to "unwillingly, and undeservingly" turned into an undead, so an evil erson who turned into a mummy, or a person who liched themselves couldnt be targeted, and the person had to be willing.

Just apologize to Mr. New Mummy, smash his brains in, then Resurrect him back to what he was when he was alive.

You can resurrect someone killed by a death effect or someone who has been turned into an undead creature and then destroyed. You cannot resurrect someone who has died of old age. Constructs, elementals, outsiders, and undead creatures can’t be resurrected.

You can't use this on an "alive" undead creature, but if it used to be a living creature that was turned into an undead, and you kill the undead, you can Resurrect the original creature.

That's the easy part, the hard thing to do is to kill him as a Mummy, and then raise him back as a Mummy....

Anyways if you use ressurection for this the undead creature can just say no to get ressed as far as i understand.

It isn't as hard as you think:
