| dxfan04-01-08, 11:36 AM | I'm trying to create a pc for a friend with a werewolf template but if he changes it says that the dm has control over him. a friend of mine claims that his vampire pc has a spell that negates the dm's control over the weerewolf. Is there such a spell and could someone tell me what it is. |
| Shaggy_Shaggs04-01-08, 11:38 AM | Every NPC is DM-controlled. Any ability that could hijack control of an NPC (example: Dominate Person) can hijack control of a formshifted inflicted werewolf. |
| M-bark04-01-08, 11:53 AM | Aside from the above, becoming aware of the affliction (or being a natural born lycanthrope) does not surrender the control over to the DM: the PC will still have control over his character. |

| dxfan04-01-08, 12:28 PM | thank you for the name and input. i went back and reread the monster manual. another question it says that after the change the character alignment can become choatic evil. refering to the atricle Lycanthropes and the Purge. other than maricle or atonement is there a way the pc could keep his or her original alignment? |
| Shaggy_Shaggs04-01-08, 12:32 PM | Convincing the DM that compulsory alignment changes are stupid is one way. Barring that, a helm of opposite alignment might help with getting the lycanthrope's alignment near what it originally was. |
| Seeker9504-01-08, 02:43 PM | a spell that negates the dm's control over the werewolfSpell to Sway DM Control (http://www.papajohns.com/) This supplement has lots of great session changing options. |

If the article you're talking about is the werewolf Purge carried out by the Silver Flame, keep in ming that article was meant to be setting specific for Eberron and the lycanthrope infestation that led up to the Purge was unique and different from the disease's normal modus operandi. |
| Neutronium_Dragon04-01-08, 06:02 PM | What campaign setting are you playing in? This will impact the options which are open. Do you want a natural or afflicted werewolf? A natural werewolf is generally a better option for PC use, even though it comes at a higher cost. |
| Lycanthromancer04-04-08, 06:34 PM | I contracted lycanthropy (see my name and avatar), and I'm still the same alignment I used to be. Of course, my favorite side-dish HAS always been baby elf, but what can you do? |
