| Tony Vargas05-25-06, 02:03 PM | I know this may be a stupid question but does anyone know for sure whether you can Charge with a touch attack spell? Normally, when you cast a touch attack spell, you can immediately make the touch attack, as part of the same standard action. If you miss, or decline to make the touch attack at the same time as casting, you're 'holding the charge.' (I know we all know this, I'm just trying to be very clear, since the word 'charge' has two very different meanings, here). You cannot cast a touch spell as part of a Charge action, nor charge as part of casting a touch spell. You can cast, 'hold the charge,' then move (but not attack), or move then cast (and deliver the touch attack as part of the casting action). If you're already 'holding the charge,' from a prior round, you could use the Charge action to double-move and make the touch attack to deliver the spell. |
| Broken vacuum05-25-06, 02:17 PM | You are slightly wrong regarding the touch spells, Tony Vargas. You can actually perform a cast-move-touch sequence with a touch spell during one round. You can find it in the Actions in Combat section of the SRD. |

Anyway, to sum it up, in order to charge-touch attack, one would have to either cast a swift touch spell then charge, or charge with a held touch spell cast from the previous round... So, yes, in some circumstances, one could charge with a touch spell, but I couldn't think of very many times when the latter example would be of much use... |
