Can You Create More than one Item at a time? [Archive] - Wizards Community

04-07-04, 04:22 PM Ok I want to know... Can you create multiple Items Simultaneously like 3 rings or staffs. I want to create Several items (one for each of my party members) but we do not have time to stop as we have a time limit to reach our destination.

I am asking this because My character was forced off into a life path that I would like to undo by Burning off XP in Magic item creation... I was not able to make it into the home grown prestige class I designed for my character because of an Artifact (deck of the Many) caused me to level several times before i could complete the special requirements.

Any help with this problem would be helpfull

04-07-04, 04:28 PM I don't think you can normally, but a resonable DM will probly let you if there identical, and you apply some sort of mitagating factor. (Probly make it like 1.5 times the cost per staff would be acceptable.)

04-07-04, 05:44 PM You can't lose levels by paying XP for magic items or spells with XP costs.

I'd recommend some sort of level loss something or other. Just avoid Restoration for awhile.

04-07-04, 08:26 PM You should have declined to level up with the XP, no all you can do is lose it to level draining creatures, or enter your PrC later. Also, crafting takes time, if you are on a deadline, you won't be able to spend xp crafting. (You can only spend 40xp and 500gp per day, taking 1 day per 1000gp (market value))

04-08-04, 01:33 AM the rules dont seem to disallow making a scroll with multiple spells on it. just add up the costs for each spell to determine market value. of course, you can still only build at 1000gp market value per day...

The caster works for 8 hours each day. He cannot rush the process by working longer each day. But the days need not be consecutive, and the caster can use the rest of his time as he sees fit.

A character can work on only one item at a time. If a character starts work on a new item, all materials used and XP spent on the under-construction item are wasted.
The secrets of creating artifacts are long lost.

A scroll with multiple spells being scribed onto it counts as one item, which is legal. But making 2 wands is out of the question.
