The spell description states that you can only take willing people with you when you cast a dimension door spell. What if the person is unconcious?

This has to do with a possible kidnap scenario. A 9th level sorceror and friends dimension door into a place and subdue their victim. Can they then dimension door out with the victim if they are asleep (via a sleep spell etc)? What if they've been rendered unconcious by subdual damage?

Obviously if the person were concious this would not work (they are clearly unwilling), but it's important to know if it will work the other way for an upcoming game.

I'd have to vote no. It seems that to be "willing", they'd have to make a conscious decision to want to go

From the SRD:
Some spells restrict you to willing targets only. Declaring yourself as a willing target is something that can be done at any time (even if you’re flat-footed or it isn’t your turn). Unconscious creatures are automatically considered willing, but a character who is conscious but immobile or helpless (such as one who is bound, cowering, grappling, paralyzed, pinned, or stunned) is not automatically willing.
emphasis mine

Therefore, yes.

and so, it has been shown that I am wrong.

I never knew that.. how interesting. Gotta formulate some new mage plans :)

Lanilifar,
Thanks, that's exactly what I needed to know.

So that means that unconscious people NEVER GET A WILL SAVE.

There has been a lot of confusion on these boards about that topic.

No that is not correct. ( corrected full round errror, thanks. kreynolds.)

Willing is not the same as lowering your defenses or failing a spell. Some spells only work on willing creatures. Lowering your defenses takes an action (Standard Action to lower your SR, Free Action to intentionally fail a save).

Unconcisous people GET a Will Save. There is NO debate if you follow WoTC's rules - the Sage expressely said so. But for things that only work on willing creatures, they are considered willing.

No one is ever willing to be Dominated. You might lower your defenses and forgo a save, but that is not the same as being willing.
