Can you use power components to create magic items (like potions) that you otherwise couldn't? I want my wizard/master alchemist to create a potion of heal, but I can't cast heal, not even from scrolls. So I'm wondering what kind of component would be good (if any) to help me create the potion anyway. By the way, I'm not the DM this time, so I need to come up with something that makes sense before my DM will allow it.

PER RAW, you can't craft an item w/o being able to cast the spell first unless you are an artificer.

you can't make a potion of heal anyways. it's 6th level, potions can hold 3 level or lower only.

and otherwise, SOKAR is correct (although he really should add in high level warlocks to that statement).

One of the special abilities of Master Alchemists is that they can create potions of higher than third lvl. I havent seen the 3.5 update for them, but the 3.0 ones could go all the way up to lvl 9.
And no, I havent seen anything that allows you to create potions of spells that are not on your spell list.
