I have a cleric of Obad-Hai who has all of his domains (through a 3rd party prestige Class)
Anyway besides that, I have the Earth domain and 2 of my party members are either part Air elemental and the other is part Djinni. The 3rd party templates book they used says for all intents and purposes their blood-line is both oustider, genie, their original race and for the 1/2 elemental its particular subtype (air).

Now I am wondering if I can turn these guys with my Earth domain's turning/rebuking Air creatures. Any thoughts?

EARTH DOMAIN
Granted Power: Turn or destroy air creatures as a good cleric turns undead. Rebuke, command, or bolster earth creatures as an evil cleric rebukes undead. Use these abilities a total number of times per day equal to 3 + your Charisma modifier. This granted power is a supernatural ability. For this purpose, air subtype = air creatures.
So yes, you most certainly can.
In fact, if you're not careful, when you attempt to turn an air elemental, you might turn them accidentally.

(Not clear on the part Djinni one, would half to read the race/template)

Thanks. We have had some problems getting mind controled (failing our saves with a 1 !!) and I thought this would be extremely funny to do if they got dominated or something again.

I would say You refer to the monstrous manuals. At the front there is a list of air creatures. Thats a good place to start.

If the person in your party is an air genasi then I would say no he cannot be turned because I looked at a description and saw no air subtype mentioned on the description.

If he is some kind of half elemental or something it might work, best thing to do is read the desciption of what the PC is.

Yes, that's the key part. If the template has a line saying something like "the creature gains the Air subtype", then they're an Air creature. If it doesn't, they're not.
