| Harbin_Dunewalker10-04-07, 11:07 PM | I'm not sure if a normal Disintigrate would work, but the Disintegration Finesse feat from Lords of Madness explicitly allows this, and the only prerequisites are Dex 13 and the "ability to cast disintegrate as a spell or use it as a spell-like or supernatural ability," so you don't even have to be a beholder (the feat is originally in the Beholder Feats section of the book). |
| wizardguy200310-04-07, 11:20 PM | Could you combine a Craft (Sculpting or Stonecutting) with casting Disintigrate to make big rock carvings (a la Mount Rushmore)? No, a Disintigrate effect destroys a slain creature, an entire object, or a 10' cube of non-living matter. As was previously stated, there is a feat however that overrides this. |
| ScipioX10-05-07, 03:57 AM | You can certainly still sculpt with disintegrate. You just have to use a large enough scale. It works the same way as making a picture out of post it notes, except on a 10' block scale, instead of a 2 inch post it note scale. |
| TheKeyofE10-05-07, 09:36 AM | Basically, what I was asking is thus: disintigrate destroys a 10' cube of nonliving matter. Would it be possible to shape that 1000 cubic feet any which-way you wanted, rather than being confined to a boring 10'x10'x10' cube? The answer is yes but, as Harbin said, only with the Disintigration Finesse feat. Thanks for that, btw. I had only glanced through Lords of Madness before you pointed that out. |
