caster level and golem creation [Archive] - Wizards Community

05-09-05, 09:05 PM does golem creation depend on caster level or character level? For example, if I'm 15th level and have a an ioun stone that adds +1 caster level, does that mean I am able to create an iron golem (caster must be level 16) ?

All level-dependent magical effects are caster level dependent when referring to the source of the magic, and character (hit dice) level dependent when referring to the targets of the magic.

05-09-05, 09:25 PM the archmage's spell power ability only adds +1 caster level to spells and caster level checks. I doubt it would apply in this case. What is this ring or arcane might you speak of? Can you use two identical ioun stones (I would think not)?
