I was reading the spell casting section and I want to clear up something.

It says that you need a free hand for a spell with a somatic component.

If the spell also has a material component, do you need another hand to manipulate the matarial component or can you use the hand that will be doing the somatic component?

Thanks in advance!

You can use the "free" hand. Basicly, you would use that hand to wave the material components around.

The requirement for a "free" hand usually comes into play if you were wielding something that couldn't be held in one hand, such as two weapons, or a weapon and large shield. There might be other situations where you need both hands for something else (holding onto a cliff edge, for example), but those situations would prevent you from making any of the other somantic moves anyway.

As far as I know, the only spell that requires two free hands is burning hands.
Someone has otherwise fully answered the questions.
