01-02-04, 08:49 PM Do players need to have their hands free(eg: no weapons, or restrictions) to cast spells with somatic componets?

01-02-04, 08:52 PM if i recall correctly, and its late in the night here, the characters only need one free hand to cast spells with somatic components.

01-02-04, 08:56 PM Characters need one hand free, but they can hold a two-handed weapon (or similarly sized object) in one hand while casting. Watch out if you play a weapon-and-shield cleric, pladin or ranger. Alhough you can cast a spell with a bucklered hand if you overcome arcane spell failure chance. Many arcane casters wear mithral bucklers for that reason (or just use shield spell).
