Ok, so say I cast a touch spell. For Argument's sake, We'll say I've got a Cleric casting Cure Moderate Wounds. He casts the spell, while he's touching two people, or two people are touching him. Either way, physical contact is maintained.

Do both people get the benefits of the spell? Does only one? If only one, which one?

Sorry if this has been asked before. I did a quick search and didn't come up with anything. Thanks for any assistance, guys.

1.Do both people get the benefits of the spell?

No. Only one creature can be effected by a spell that only effects one target. Note that touch spells have the caster touching the target, not the other way around, and you can only touch one person with one hand(and it needs to be the whole hand).

2. If only one, which one?

The caster of the spell has total control over the spells effect and gets to chose who gets effected.

Note you can't 'steal' a spell effect. So if a spell caster is casting Water Breathing on a group, you can't run by and tap him and get the spell effect too.

Regarding: increasing recipients, that is correct. If the spell says one target, it can only affect one target and the Wizard chooses.

But regarding stealing touch effects: That is a House Rule. There is no rule that says you can't steal an effect. While it is true that the wizard controls when it is released, there are ways around it.

Teleport in particular, is often ruled "stealable". The core books do not offer a set rule either way, it is up to your DM.

If you use the "teleport is just regular movement into, within and out of the Astral Plane", then grapple rules about movement apply. So Grapple can either stop it, or pull the grappler along, then it is easy to steal a teleport by grappling the wizard, who will be forced to either take you along (if you are within his weight limit), or not teleport at all.

No, a wizard casting teleport would only take the creature grappling him along for the ride if he chooses to, and if he was teleporting to get away, nothing is going to stop him beyond a readied action to disrupt the spell, knocking him unconscious before he casts, or the wizard failing his concentration check. Anything else is blatantly disregarding the rules and completely gimping all casters.

The only reason a wizard would take a grapple monkey creature along for the ride is if he has a feather fall effect ready and the creature can't fly. POP! SPLAT! :D
The creature still gets a Will save and SR, and possibly will hold onto him as he falls (though I would suggest a pretty high concentration check to avoid panicking and loosing him as it falls).

Now this is a house Rule-If you use the "teleport is just regular movement into, within and out of the Astral Plane", then grapple rules about movement apply. So Grapple can either stop it, or pull the grappler along, then it is easy to steal a teleport by grappling the wizard, who will be forced to either take you along (if you are within his weight limit), or not teleport at all.

Sure 'if' teleport is regular movement, but let say it's not...lets say is magical movement(I know that's going out on a limb). Guess this House rule is to stop the old teleport away trick. All you have to do is grapple someone and they can't teleport without taking you with them?

Well, lets say you cast Teleport, the 5th level spell, just on yourself while in a grapple(and you make all the rolls to do so, ect). When you cast teleport on yourself, it has a range of personal. Personal spells only effect the one that cast them....so how does that grappling guy 'steal' that?

The same way if a 20th level wizard is casting teleport on himself and two freinds, you can't grab anyone of them and go along. The spell only effect what the caster wants it to, not 'anything' touched.

You will need a diffrent trick to defeat teleport.
