| Suspect_Unusual11-20-07, 02:30 AM | When a spellcaster is grappled and wants to cast a spell, if the concentration check fails, is the attempted spell lost? I see you did a careful reading of the skill in question before coming to the boards for an answer. Concentration skill description: If the Concentration check succeeds, you may continue with the action as normal. If the check fails, the action automatically fails and is wasted. If you were in the process of casting a spell, the spell is lost. |

| ogg20511-20-07, 11:36 AM | ah, go easy on him. We've all done it- asked something that we didn't remember from the phb. |
| navar10011-21-07, 02:26 AM | As it so happened, the question came up in our game when the druid was grappled and wanted to cast but failed the roll. The DM couldn't find the rule quick enough so just made something up (gave it a 50% chance, failed roll anyway) and we moved on. We forgot about it after the game because frankly, it wasn't so important to us. (Maybe it should be, but it just wasn't.) The druid player really didn't care either way. It's just how the game works. I come online to these forums the following dat and while reading suddenly I remember the incident and posted the question spontaneously. |
