All other's stat enhancing *spells are available to clerics and I can't figure out why Cat's Grace would be any different. *Eagle's Splendor(cha), Fox's Cunning(int), Bull Strength(str), Owl's Wisdom(wis), Endurance(con) per Tome & Blood and PHB. Has anyone seen any official information on adding Cat's Grace to the 2nd level clerical list? |

| AlfaMale2610-18-03, 02:09 PM | Cat's Grace was included in several 3e prestige domains, but was never a core spell to the cleric class. You can find it included in the Elf and Halfling domains (FRCS) and in the Celerity domain (DotF). Otherwise, Cat's Grace is unavailable as a divine spell. |

| Seeker9510-19-03, 08:16 AM | Mostly related... Has anybody detected / deduced / created a reason the various ability enhancement spells are not all both arcane and divine? I cannot detect a pattern, and while I can accept that they fall into different realms, I cannot figure out why. |
| d_nychus10-19-03, 08:20 AM | It's mostly what "seems" appropriate, but not all people agree on the "seeming" so we get a few problems from time to time. The reason clerics don't have Kittie's Grace is because Cleric's ain't exactly known for bein' light on their toes. Well, at least not without domains. |
| Seeker9510-19-03, 08:43 AM | d_nychus, I had thought about that, but then realized that's exactly why the cleric would need such a spell. To make up for the lack! I think this will be one of those questions where the answer really is... just because! |
| d_nychus10-19-03, 09:25 AM | It makes more sense when you realize that spells are actually mostly to suppliment strengths and not overcome weaknesses. |

That makes sense until the cleric got the spell Fox's Cunning which enhances Intelligence. Int imo is the second least important stat for a cleric, the first being Dex. Ahh well, it still doesn't help my character's situation. :( |

You mean like: Mage Armor, Shield, Cure X Wounds, Protection from Elements? :P If the buff spells were personal, that would make more sense. But they aren't, which means it can be assumed the spells are also to be used on others... others with different strengths than the caster's. In my campaign, all of the animal-name ability-buff spells are usable by both arcane and divine casters (including druids and bards). But the core rules take precedence as soon as you move from one campaign to another. I still suspect the reason for the limited access is just because. |
