There's an NPC in my world that is something like a high level medic(not cleric) she works with crystals and such, much similar to a shaman and is also very much specizliaed in alchemy, creating nice buffer/recover pills(as guided in the CA).

I really wanted to keep her non-cleric stylish way to be, and was in need of her sheet. So I was working on a prestige class to her and came with this idea of letting her recover other people's spell levels throught a small ritual of alingning chakras. Here's what i worked out so far:

Mantra of Chakra Alingning (10th level ability of the PrC)
The X has the ability to execute a special kind of ritual that realings the chakra of a single, willing target, recovering some of his spiritual and inner strenght. She must be at a place that allows concentration, and make a special kind of massage, pressing the target Tenketsus with proper pressure. This technique takes ten minutes to be effective and can only be used once per day on a single target. The x has the ability to alingn chakras 3/day. When completed, the X must make a Heal check against a DC of 20. For each 5 that the check trespasses this DC, the target recovers one spell level(or equivalent) beggining from his lowest possible spell level(used slot). This alots are not temporary slots, the target cannot have more slots than his maximum capacity. If the target is a spontaneous caster, it recovers one unused 1st level spell slot, and if the caster memorizes his spells, he regains knowledge of one of his 1st level prepared spells.

So, if the doctor had a 45 in Heal(16 ranks+6 wisdom+2 skill focus+1 trait + 20 from an item) and rolled a 10, she would reach a 55, and recovers 7 spell levels.

what you think?

From my experience it seems you need a starting point to work from... try 3.5e psionics. Especially the Mind's Eye feature here on wizards.com, there was a class all about this.
Do a google search on "psionics" and "chakra" and "prestige class" and see what comes up.

I'd help but too tired right now and going to bed, good luck -_-

To Diego, I think that the wording can be improved on Mantra of Chakra Aligning. It allows one to regain expended spell slots. Starting with the lowest level, what if there are no 0th level spells expended or even 1st level spells expended. If it is near the beginning of the day and there has only been one big combat, this could lead to regaining your highest level spell slots depending on the interpretation. Now, I'm saying that is unbalanced (it is a 10th level ability), but it does need to be clarified.

...and if the caster memorizes his spells, he regains knowledge of one of his 1st level prepared spells.

2 questions: a) Does "one of his prepared spells" include the one that he expended? b) For wizards, would it be okay for it to be an empty slot so he can just pull out his book and prepare any spell?

Now, although this PrC does has some Psionic feel to it, so do other PrCs like Mindbender, Mage of the Unseen Hand, etc. Good luck.

Nice obs. I really have no good ideas on the name for the ability, so you're welcome to help.

I did forget about 0 level spells, think they would count like 1/2 spell level.

If it is not clear enougth, the idea of the ability is to renew your already spent slots, and only them, be them memorized or not.(No extra temporary slots if you haven't spent none)

The ability does no recover "entire spells" like "8 spells". It recover spell levels, so in order for you to reagain an 8th level used slot, you couldn't have used any lower level one(because they would be recovered first) and the "doctor" had to roll the heal check at least 60, and that's HIGH. So I don't believe it's that unba.

For wizards, I believe it's ok... if he let an empty slot, memorizes one spell, cast it, and than have this same slot recovered via this ability, he would "remember" the same spell he memorized.

any more doubts?
