Over the recent months 4 new shiny magic systems have been brought into this game, Incarnum, Pack Magic, Shadow Magic, and True Speech. I have found Problems with most of these systems. Incarnum good premise, Bad flavor.. Though it is mechanically sound, I have found that its RP potential basically give a very strange Champion of Chosen alignment, Just another Psychic Warrior, Weird Spirit Shaman feel. I don’t particularly like the way it tastes mainly because SOUL MAGICK seems it should be a bit different than blue glowing Magic Pseudo-items Pack Magic Easley the best out of all the new magic systems. Mechanically sound and very fun to play, draw back is that some times in some situations, it feels a little to dark to be neutral. Shadow Magic. Though Mechanically Wonderful and quick and fun to use, its flavor is a little blah. A shadow conjurer but even more Conjurey and shadow like. It seems a little un original flavor wise but other than that, very solid True Speak: Though mechanically it works all right it just doesn’t feel TRUE NAMY its kind of weak and a little to easy to do. Though you can give it the feel of real true naming it just doesn’t seem to cut the gravy some times. * By the sacred words Hissgrathuma I beget power unto thee.. All right give you self a +2 on spot checks.. A little to flashy not enough umph. Also it doesn’t have Therge class which kind of irks me. So I ask can someone out there impress me and others on this board with a unique, flavorful, mechanically sound magic system? Suggestions maybe Fey magic? Nature magic with an arcane twist A good true name Magic System? A good Elemental system of Magic? A system of magic that uses other planes for its powers? A systems that works as a sorcerer type system draw from your ancestry A system that work Blood Magic Any takers? |

This can be done as a skill system (i.e. you do your best to manipulate fire magic, if you do well you get a Fireball, not quite so well a flaming sphere, less well a Less Orb of fire) Or it can simply be done as a pre-req system with freebies'. |
