Hi!

I have an easy question:

When casting Otiluke's resilient sphere, and I'm a wizard18 , can I decide what the radius of the sphere is (not over max of course)?

and what happens when theres something in the way of the sphere after casting it=?

thanks in advance,
V

I don't remember where I've read it but I'm almost positive that u can cast the spell at a lower caster level than u are and variate from 30ft-max (since it has a close range)
I don't know if u can focus on that numeric effect (range) of the caster level or u will be forced to accept it in any other way (duration, dispel attempts...)

You are simply trying to make a smaller sphere, not fit more power into a smaller area. I would say you can make a smaller sphere and still keep your longer duration. What I would not allow is for a caster to pack a super-powered BOOM (CLd6 damage) into a smaller CL-dependent radius. (Although off the top of my head I can't think of spells that would do this.
