| Sternenschwinge06-26-05, 11:45 AM | Hi everyone ! I asked myself quite some time, what actually happens, if the character with a familiar dies, to the familiar ? Does it just "poof" and vanishes ? Or is only the magic bond broken and the familiar returns to his former being ? Is the familiar resurrected, if his master is, and does he only has to establish a new bond ? Are there any rules or suggestions ? Thanks in advance, sternenschwinge. |

Seriously though, familiars don't die when their masters do. I believe that they keep their abilities, they just count as being owned by a master 2 levels below that of their previous master. They retain intelligence and unless their old master comes back from the dead, are their own freewilled beings fully capable of taking levels in PC classes if they really wanted. I forget where I remember all this from. I think that there was a thread about this a while back. |
