Am I understanding this correctly that if a character with spell resistance is wearing magical armor that is the target of, let's say, a Heat Metal spell, that the armor gains use of the character's spell resistance the same way it gains the character's saving throws? I have a rules lawyer I'm trying to clarify this for, and if I say the answer came from the boards, he'll believe me.

From the SRD:

The terms “object” and “harmless” mean the same thing for spell resistance as they do for saving throws. Now, checking the description for chill metal:

Spell Resistance: Yes (object)The object gets the creature's spell resistance.

Thank you much. That's what I thought.
