| Thelon Fairblade04-08-05, 10:45 AM | I am planning on the following change(s) to undead in my next campaign. 1) basic skeletons are treated more like "weak bone constructs". Nothing horrific or negative-planar about them, just animated bones as opposed to animated objects. 2) basic zombies are the first stage of horror, corpses animated by an extraplanar disease. zombies can only arise when an infected person dies; the person's soul is trapped in the body until it is destroyed, but has no control over the body's actions (generally mindless deestruction of life, but starting with those known to the soul, first!) 3) higher undead, and more powerful versions of skeletons and zombies are actually stronger and stronger demonic possessions. Incorporeal undead will actually be free-roaming demonic spirits, or dispossessed demons looking for a new corpse to inhabit. 4) Demons (i.e. Fiends) cannot be summoned or Called without a body to inhabit. [5) Eventually, the concentrations of demonic energy on the Plane will open a tear / force conjunction, such that demons can enter the world in physical form.] [Edit: Subject title change, to ephasize Demonic Possession.] [Edited again to :bump:] |
