| wirrel07-18-05, 12:24 PM | This weekend had a little disagreement on how a spell works. I have a lvl 12 warmage. With Energy Subsitution Electricity. I wanted to cast Flame arrow, subsituting for electricity. He advised me that it would not cause additional dmg to the giant cause of the description of Flame arrow. (PH231) "You Turn ammunition into fiery projectiles. Each piece of ammunition deals an extra 1d6 of fire dmg to any target it hits. A flaming projectile can easily ignite a flammable object or structure, but it wont ignite a creature it strikes." Its the last part that of the spell description that seems to create the confusion. I am thinking that it would take the extra dmg but wouldnt be ignited there by taking dmg the following round as well. The DM thinks it wont be ignited there by not taking any extra dmg. Opinions? |
