Ok, so me and 2 other members in my party of 4 had a level each drained from Wights. Now, we're back in town and safety and we want our levels back. Now, we were level 5, and the other 2 members who lost levels had like 3900 exp...so 13900/15000 exp....I had 0 at level 5, so, forget me. Now, we lost a level, when we gain it back, do they get the 3900 back?? Or, since we went to level 4...we had 6000 exp...do we just gain 4000 back, which puts them at 10000?? Cause the PHB says "A character who has a level restored by a restoration spell has exactly the minimum number of experience points necessary to restore him or her to his or her previous level". Does that mean they have exactly that much exp after the level restore? Cause that really sucks for both of them if they lost all that...it means they lost 3900 exp...that's how much they got in a full days adventure. I'd hate to be hit by a wight at level 19 just a few exp away from 20.... Is that really how aweful level draining is???

Thanks for any help in advance :)

If I was a 19th level anything and I was hit by a wight, I'd be pretty angry.

The bad news is that your XP is restored to the minimum needed to reach the level you were. The good news is that you're alive.

Level draining does sting a bit. Even if you've been restored.
