Cleric and Shrinking... [Archive] - Wizards Community

09-08-05, 04:22 PM I am looking for a spell a cleric can use to get as small as possible. I would like to exclude the use of miracle. I am looking for fine, diminutive, and if I have to tiny size. But I want either one of the first two.

I have access to the following domains.

Drow
Trickery
Travel

Please advise. =)

09-08-05, 04:58 PM Well, if I'm correct, there's polymorph any object from trickery domain that can do it.

Though I suppose not technically a cleric spell, Anyspell or Greater Anyspell might be able to achieve it, but you'd need to somehow get the Spell domain for that.

09-08-05, 06:27 PM I skimmed through the cleric spells, and looked at trickery domain, and there is nothing with the exception of polymorph any object, that will get you down to that size. If your DM allows it, you might get empowered reduce person cast on you (- 2 size categories). That's All there is. Just remember that a drastic size reduction like that will severely degrade your non-spell damage, and destroy your reach.

09-08-05, 10:31 PM Some things a cleric simply cannot accomplish. Outside of a miracle, which can accomplish anything if you bribe the DM with the right incentive.

09-08-05, 11:57 PM I believe Psionicists and Wu Jens can get down to Diminuitive, so ask your friendly local item creating psychic/eastern mystic to make you an item which allows you to shrink to diminuitive size 1/day. If Wu Jen cant get that small and your DM hates Psionics for some reason, then argue that it should cost the same as an item which lets you get to gargantuan 1/day (which I know Wu Jen can).

Also, if you told us why you need to shrink so much then we might be able to come up with an alternative solution to your problem.

09-09-05, 08:20 AM For hide and move silently checks, every monster in every fight has a great spot/listen check. I have a really good hide/move silent now, but this is another layer I can start taking advantage of. A cleric you can't find, is a cleric who is still alive at the end of the day. The polymorph any object trick I thought of, but I need my armor to shrink also and it states magic items do not change size.
