Ok, I saw a 17th level cleric use this armor spell... And I can't find it.

It was like full plate armor, and imposed a -4 penalty to all attacks against the wearer... among other things.

It was definitely a spell, not magic armor. And it doesn't appear to be in the PHB or Spell Compendium.

Please help me out!

its in bokk of exalted deeds. It is a spell, but a special type of spell: sanctified spells. They appear on no spell list and anyone can learn them, but casting them requires a sacrifice of some kind

the spell you are thinking of is greater luminous armor, p102, the sacrifice of that is 1d3 points of strength damage
