| Rixarn12-29-04, 11:43 PM | I red in the PHB "With access to two domain spells at a given spell level, a cleric prepares one or the other each day in hsi domain spell slot." Lets assume i have healing and good domains. Now, im preparing my spell list... Can i take spells from both domains? ex. Level 1 (a healing domain spell) Level 2 (a good domain spell) or the description states i must go straight on one only? Level 1 and two from healing domain. Thanks |

| tarkin12-30-04, 01:55 PM | And you are allowed to Downgrade the level of the Domain spell. For example let's say you are a 5th level Elven Cleric with the Domains "Elf" and "Healing". You could memorize two "True Strike"spells, one as your First level Domain spell and another as your Second level Domain Spell. |

I have neither seen a rule that says that you CAN nor have I seen a rule that says that you CANT. I have actually never heard of this before. It just doesnt make sense to me :( Can you please explain further where you read that a Cleric can do this? |

If you can cast 4th levels spells, you can prepare the 4th level slot with a lower level spell instead. I personally don't see much use for this, but it can be done, and the rules should be in PHB before the Spell descriptions. EDIT: With a quick glance, I couldn't find it, but the rule is somewhere in the books. |
| Zherog12-30-04, 03:35 PM | Indeed, Sir F. Is correct - you can do that with any spell. From the SRD: Spell Slots: The various character class tables show how many spells of each level a character can cast per day. These openings for daily spells are called spell slots. A spellcaster always has the option to fill a higher-level spell slot with a lower-level spell. A spellcaster who lacks a high enough ability score to cast spells that would otherwise be his or her due still gets the slots but must fill them with spells of lower level. |
