| Witch07-11-06, 02:17 PM | Why would necromancy suddenly be only for evil characters? |
| cwslyclgh07-11-06, 02:20 PM | necromancy is a school not a descriptor. good aligned clerics can use spells of any school. they can not use spells with the evil descriptor. unless the spell has the (evil) descriptor attached to it, found just after the spells school, then the cleric can use it regardless of what school it comes from. |

| Hazkali07-12-06, 03:31 PM | Necromancy is the magic of death. Don't forget that some undead-busting spells are necromancy. Like a lot of the spells in the player's handbook, its morality comes from how it is used. A fireball into a children's party is evil, but the spell isn't necromantic. An inflict light wounds spell at a blackguard is good, but the spell is necromantic. |
| SoldierOfFortune18707-12-06, 03:41 PM | Don't do Deathwatch Sad but true :( For whatever reason, the channeling of 'foul sight granted by the powers of undeath' is an evil act, hence the descriptor. Didn't say I agree with it, but that's the closest I can figure. |
