I have a half-ogre cleric of Tyr with the war, retribution and inquisition domains (I have invested in one or two levels of church inquisitors). What spells do you sugest that I cast - and in what order - before a battle when:
- I am aware of the oponents and I have time to prepare
- My party is surprised and I am eager to enter the melee
The character is a melee-oriented cleric 6/ church inquisitor 3 (9th level divine spellcaster) in full plate wielding a longsword, he is a large creature with 20 STR and 18 Con and I am allowed to use any WotC spell (no Dragon magazine)
Thanks in advance!

Divine Power (4th)
Magic Vestment(3rd)
Divine Favor (1st)
Protection from ------(depending on what you're fighting) (1st)
Shield of Faith (1st)

and of course Spiritual Weapon is nice to add to your melee ability.

You are a large creature. What are you doing with that silly longsword? Large creatures want reach weapons. Spiked Chain if they can get it, otherwise a regular reach weapon like a lance.

As a 9th level caster, you want to cast the 5th level spell Righteous Might, from the PHB.

This spell causes you to grow, doubling your height and multiplying your weight by 8. This increase changes your size category to the next larger one, and you gain a +4 size bonus to Strength and a +2 size bonus to Constitution. You gain a +2 enhancement bonus to your natural armor. You gain damage reduction 3/evil (if you normally channel positive energy) or damage reduction 3/good (if you normally channel negative energy)

As a large creature you have full reach 10ft normally, 20ft with a spiked chain

As a large creature turned into a Huge creature you have 15ft reach, 30 with the spiked chain. Even with a regular reach weapon, 30ft reach with the 15ft donut is well worth it.

I would suggest your next feats be:
1) Combat Reflexes
2) Exotic Weapon Proficiency Spiked Chain.

These feats will tremdously increase your tactical abilities, even before you cast Righteous Might. Combining them with Righteous Might make you very very powerfull.

Also note, with 15ft natural reach, you can easily do touch attacks from far away. Great for healing your allies and casting attack spells on your enemy.
