I know that the extra plus one spell per level has to come from on of your two domains.
What I would like to know is if you can all use the domain spells in your regular spell slots.
Assume you have a 5th level cleric with the travel domain. Can he only take one fly or can he place that spell in his other 3rd level spell slots as well?

I would have no problems letting a cleric put a lower level domain spells in a higher level domain slot. But only in the domain slot.

PHB page 179-180
Divine Spells
Spell Selection and Preparation:
(Last line of the section)
"If a domain spell is not on the cleric spell list, it can be prepared only in a domain spell slot."

This means that a Travel cleric could only prepare fly once per day. However, you may want to speak to your DM on the situation. He may allow you to prepare multiples in higher domain slots, as Kyuk suggested, or he may even let you prepare the spell as if it were on your cleric spell list. You won't know until you ask.

Celloshane I totally did not understand what you said. What do you mean by multiples?

However, the Sage has specifically said that you can memorize your 3rd level domain spell your 4th level Domain slot.

You can also memorize a 3rd level domain spel that has been empowered, taking up the 5th level Domain slott.

This is official game rules and is valid at gencon/ living city games.

What I meant was that perhaps his DM would allow him to prepare Fly in both his 3rd and 4th level slots ect., thus having multiple castings of the same spell.
