Boy, I think I was way off the mark. After reading it again, it looks like only the spells that have M/DF F/DF are replaced by a holy symbol but spells that have F or M are still needed by a cleric. That is correct isn't it? I think the reason I got it screwed up was when I first started playing 3rd edition years back, the Human Cleric Starting Package didn't include any spell component pouches, only a holy symbol. Hmmm, the Knowledge domain can get expensive then. :( |

There is a distinction there. Note that Domain spells which would normally be found on the Sor/Wiz list are considered divine when cast by a Cleric as Domain spells. Thus they would not require Arcane Material Components, but will still require Material Components. |

The Focus is part of the whole spell, so a divine caster still needs them. Some divine spell do need materal components, mostly the big powerful ones, such as StoneSkin or TrueSeeing. So clerics may need a spell component pouch from time to time(for 'arcane' domain spells, for example), though mostly the compoents they will need will be the high end expensive ones that are not in the pouch anyway.
