| Dev Vim12-08-05, 12:20 PM | ok, quick, dumb question, but i seriously cant decide on this. dose the concealment given by cloak dance work against spells? i mean, yeah its concealment, but its just some fabric, they still know where you are. couldnt you just target them anyways? |
| Dev Vim12-08-05, 02:41 PM | oh come on, nobody has any idea how this would work? |
| Purkake12-08-05, 03:07 PM | Well, concealment is concealment and applys to all targeted spells IIRC, it doesn't matter if you are in fog or dancing in you cloak. |
| Dev Vim12-08-05, 03:42 PM | rule wise i thoguth so, you know, just hard to tell sometimes. its almost like pulling the cloak over your head and saying "you cant see me" but hay, its quite a good feat, i can imagine it being quite usefulll for characters like monks, and especially the dervish, who needs the ranks in dance anyways. |
| Purkake12-08-05, 04:08 PM | It gets even funnier when you use it to hide. You can hide when you have concealment so basically exacly like you said: you dance(in a 5ft square) pull the cloak over your head and boom - your hidden :D |
| Dev Vim12-10-05, 01:12 PM | wow, thats crazy you pull a cloak over your head, make a hide check and say "you cant see me"... i dont know seems a bit too easy |
| Purkake12-10-05, 01:32 PM | At that point most people pull the "concealment is not enough, you can't hinde while observed" quote. It is true aswell, it depends on what you consider to be concealment and what "while observed means" :D |
| Jaid12-10-05, 01:35 PM | well, it at least requires your full action to pull off, iirc :P you would be able to get in a 5 ft adjustment and nothing else in any action where you cloak dance and hide (notice that if you lose the concealment, you aren't hiding any more). cloak dance is a move action i believe, and hiding requires something more than a free action (i think it is also a move action, not sure, but since you only get one move action/round normally...) now, for someone with the hustle power... this could get interesting :P regardless, it's at this point that you enter house rule country, IMO :P anyhow, as far as spells go, keep in mind that something as simple as displacing your body by 1-2 feet (displacement spell) is worth as much as invisibility as far as concealment goes... so i would say that there is no reason cloak dance should not provide normal concealment versus spells, any more than there should be any limitation on blur or displacement. |
