| Emir01-26-04, 05:02 AM | Well, I have a Sorcerrer. I bought the Cloak of Charisma +6 :) And I'm considering buying the Ioun Stone that grants you +2 to Charisma. So...If I put on Cloak of Charisma and the Ioun Stone...Do the effects stack? |
| Heron_Marked_Blade01-26-04, 05:25 AM | Considering that both the Ioun Stone of Charisma and the Cloak of Charisma grant enhancement bonuses, no, they don't stack. Enhancement bonuses to the same ability do not stack. The highest bonus "overwrites" the lower one. |
| Emir01-26-04, 05:35 AM | Thanx a lot!!! :) |
| tarkin01-29-04, 10:41 AM | If you look around there is a thing that grants a competence bonus to Charisma in most circumstances. That WILL stack with either of them. |

| primemover00301-29-04, 04:26 PM | Tomes & Manuals (whatever happened to Librams?) provide an inherent ability increase, as can the Wish spell. From the SRD: Inherent bonuses are instantaneous, so they cannot be dispelled. Note: An inherent bonus may not exceed +5 for a single ability score, and inherent bonuses to a particular ability score do not stack, so only the best one applies. |

While not an actual increase in the stas it basically applies all the same benifts of have a +6 charisma in many cases. Later, Bjorn |

For a Competence bonus to Charisma, you need the Command special armor ability from Defenders of the Faith. Not, mind, the Command special armor ability from Arms and Equipment Guide, which provides a Competence bonus to Charisma checks. -Hyp. |

And if you're feeling especially greedy, get your hands on a suit of armor with +5 versions of both, and throw in the Tome of Leadership +5. You end up with an inherent increase to Charisma of +5, a Competence bonus of +5, and a Competence bonus of +5 to Charisma-based checks! (Please forgive me. The rarely-seen munchkin in me just got out for a few minutes. |

The one important thing that it does not apply to is the DC for spells. It does apply to your fascinate abiltity though since that save DC is set by your perform check, which is affected by that item. :D |
