Is it fair to have a cloak that gives acid and fire resistance 10 for 24k? I based this off of a ring of elemental resistance, 12k for resistance 10 for one element.

When one item includes multiple different abilities (as this cloak would), you need to multiply the highest cost item by 2, then add together the two costs.

So you'd multiply one of the by 2, giving 24K and add 12K for the other effect, giving a total of 36K for this cloak.

I thought that was only if the effects were different, these are the same.

Sounds fair enough to me.

I don't see how resistance to two elements is considered different abilities, so 24k works for me.

If you were giving resistance to 2 opposit elements, like 10% Fire and 10% Cold, then I might see a reason for upping the cost a little bit, but even though wouldn't draw a x2 modifier to the cost.

By the book it would cost 36,000 gold.

Ring of Resist(any) 12k
add that ability again to the same ring costs 2x as much (so 24k just for the second resist).

It is like this because you can buy 2 rings of resist for 24k but then you can't wear anymore rings, but if you combine the affect into one ring you should pay more for the one ring(to rule them all) because you still have a ring slot left open.

I guess that makes sense:(
