She was wondering, given the nature of a whirlwind, is an Air elemental capable of sucking up a spell like "Cloudkill" that is in effect, using his whirlwind ability, and then use it to make himself a deadly bundle of toxic gas? |

However, from the information in the elemental's whirlwind description, I would entertain ruling that an air elemental can control the spread of a cloud-attack with its whirlwind and can prevent the cloud from affecting the elemental's squares so long as it is in whirlwind form. However, the elemental should probably disperse the cloud once it wishes to end whirlwind form, or suffer the effects as the cloud spreads into the elemental squares. Won't affect him if it is a breathing-based spell, but something like incendiary cloud can hurt. |
