When used on an undead creature or a creature with the cold subtype, it heals 1 point of damage instead. If used on an undead creature with the cold subtype, it heals 3 points of damage instead of one. |

When used on an undead creature and/or a creature with the cold subtype, it heals 2 points of damage instead. Seems fine power wise. However, when you are dealing with energy type attacks, you usually apply an extra 50% damage (rounded down). So, if a creature has the fire subtype, it would take 1.5 points of cold damage from your spell (rounded down)...so only 1 point of cold damage (plus one point of negative energy damage). You appear to be rounding up on the healing power for cold or undead creatures. In other words, I think a creature with the cold subtype should be healed 1 HP, and a creature with the undead type should be healed 1HP, and an undead creature with the cold subtype should be healed 2HP. |

Its a more or less nebulous "necrotic chill" that translates into different levels of healing or harm based on how it interacts with the creature's vital essence. I also believe in going back to the old method were energy vulnerabilities mean just dealing outright double damage. However, your point is well taken. I have made a synthesis of the two concepts and altered the spell accordingly. |

| R.M.G.C.L.F.09-23-06, 10:26 PM | Well, it's still an arcane spell. I could see a diety of frost or death granting it though. Do you think it really doesn't fit divine? Also, how do you think I would want to go about making higher level versions of it? |
