Now dose the next condition start when the last one ends or do they oh start at the beginning of the spell ( in witch case they would be stunned when they are blinded.) This is 3.0 incase it had been changed in 3.5. |

| bullfrog03-20-04, 04:03 PM | ok. thanks shadowfax7. |
| TheRedRobedWizard03-20-04, 04:16 PM | The way I always understood it, they took all three effects at once. That way, creatures who are immune to sleep effects were blinded and stunned. Same with creatures immune to stunning. -TRRW |
| Unda Harvum03-20-04, 04:36 PM | From the 3.0 PHB: ...according to it's HD: Up to 2: Unconscious for 2d4 rounds, then blinded for 1d4 rounds, and then stunned for 1 round.(emphasis mine) I can't read this any other way than the conditions take place one after the other - i.e. not concurrently. (If someone is immune to a condition, I'd say the next condition in line (if any) took place immediately.) |
| DevilKiller03-20-04, 11:42 PM | The wording has been corrected in 3.5 SRD: 2 HD or less: The creature is unconscious, blinded, and stunned for 2d4 rounds, then blinded and stunned for 1d4 rounds, and then stunned for 1 round. (Only living creatures are knocked unconscious.) 3 or 4 HD: The creature is blinded and stunned for 1d4 rounds, then stunned for 1 round. 5 or more HD: The creature is stunned for 1 round. Sightless creatures are not affected by color spray. An exception would be creatures which do have sight but can't be rendered unconscious or stunned. I'd say they'd simply be blinded for 3d4 rounds. That's the total duration of the blindness caused by the spell if we assume that a victim who is unconscious is also blind. I think that's a safe assumption. |
| Bopple03-21-04, 12:03 AM | Aye, the sequence order of 3.0 Color Spray was weird, as it was written. Why do the consciousness level get deteriored again, after you recover?(unconscious -> recover(blind) -> stunned?, it didn't make sense) |
| bullfrog03-21-04, 08:26 AM | thanks everyone. I think I will go with the wording from 3.5 then. It just makes more sense. |
