In the campaign I am currently playing in I have 13L sorcerer... We are currently in the Nine hells... running into tons of demons and devils... Most around CR 12-14 some have been around 16... My character is having trouble over coming their spell resistance... I know that it is a little late now to do much about changing my character developement. But in either case, for future mage builds... are there any feats other than the 2 spell penetration feats to aid with over coming the spell resistance? I have the spell lower spell resistance... which works good, but some of these demons and devils pass the fort save against it quite easily... And though I have ORB spells, Demons are resistant 10 to fire, cold, acid and immune to electrity and poison; Devils are immune to fire and resitant to everything except elecrity... So my energy substitution acid doesn't really help much... My spell and feat alotment prevents them from really doing much to me... but I feel almost uneffective in most instances... Any ideas or suggestions?

Instead of the fire, cold, acid, and electricity orbs, try Orb of Force.
It's a 4th level spell, and there's not a whole lot of creatures with resistance to force.

There are feats that increase your effective caster level for certain spells in Complete Mage. They tend to be descriptor specific spells though, so like [Cold] spells or Conjuration (Summoning) spells. If you're heavy into Electricity spells, there must be some sort of Reserve Feat that will give you like 1d6 damage per spell level and also increase your caster level by +1 for those types of spells.

There is a spell called Assay Resistance as well, which is cast as a swift action and lowers the spell resistance of a target temporarily (basically the next spell you cast - I'm going by memory here, so I think that's right).

EDIT:
OH right, you have the Orb spells. One thing I have noticed is that there are few (none?) creatures that have resistance to Sonic damage. If you have Energy Substitution, try Sonic damage.

Assay Resistance is superior to Lower Spell Resistance in many ways.

No save involved
Swift Action casting time
+10 to caster level checks to bypass SR.
Duration = 1 round/level which should be more than enough time to lay down the damage with spells.
1 level higher than Lower Spell Resistance I believe.

Downside on Assay Resistance: The benefits only apply to 1 monster so if you're fighting multiple enemies, you have to pick your target and start blasting then move on to the next blasting them. Or just blast one after casting Assay Resistance, next round cast an AoE after using another Assay Resistance to crack two demons/devils.

Well I am just ready to level to 14 so I'm gonna swap out a 4th level spell prob evards black tentacle(good spell, but not against large and larger creatures w/ spell resistance)... I'll take an orb of force... Soon as I can get HEAL done on our "feeble minded" PSION, I'll have him use Psycic reformation and swap out my lesser Orb to sonic... that way I'll have damaging spells...with no SR... The assay spell resistance in my opinion isn't as good as the lower spell resistance because it only helps you over come spell resistance... In most cases if I hit a monster with lower spell resistnace, our warlock just contiues a barrage of eldrich blasts and I no longer need to be on the offense...
