Hi Brainpool,

I play a Necromancer3/Cleric3/TrueNecromancer10.

Now, I get some problems with mixing up my divine and my arcane powers.

1. my robe of the archmagi grants +2 on caster level checks to overcome spell resistance... Does this apply to both - arcane and divine - magic?

2. Imbue familiar with spell ability - there is this feat with which I can transfer some prepared spells to my familiar. I think it is a divine spell, therefore I can only transfer divine spells, right?

3. The metamagic feats I have...can I use them to enhance both kinds of magic or do I have to select one?

4. Can I use my rod of maximation on divine and arcane spells?

5. special spell question: horrid whilting
this spell does not specify an area, does this mean that I can pick the targets (as long as no two of them are more than 60ft. apart)?

6. complete arcane - the orb spells (I think that was their name) are overpowered, aren't they. I have no clue why they don't allow spell resistance....

thanx a lot for any answers :-9

As far as I know:

1. This is tricky. It doesn't specify that it only affects arcane, so it should affect any spells. On the other hand it requires arcane spellcaster, so it could be understood that it works only for that.
Either interpretation is fine, but personally I would say it affects only arcane, so that I can easily say that Bead of Karma affect only divine spells (although it doesn't say so ! just like robe of archmagi). I prefer to have "safe" rules, with as few possible abuses as possible.

2. If you are talking about cleric spell "Imbue with Spell Ability" then it's clear.
From spell's description in SRD:
Only cleric spells from the schools of abjuration, divination, and conjuration (healing) can be transferred

3. You can use any metamagics you have on any spell you cast, be it wizard, cleric or bard spells.

4. Yes, of course.

5. No area limit, but remember that the range limit for EACH target is to ALL other targets, not just nearest. In practice, it's almost as if it was limited to 30ft radius sphere, but not exactly.

6. Don't have Complete Arcane, but from I've heard I think the only really broken is the orb of force. Others may be too powerful, but only slightly.

6) That depends. Why doesn't acid arrow allow SR?
