can anyone help me with how to make 2 spells into one? I would like to make a spell that combines bull's strength and cat's grace and bear's endurance, but I don't know what level to put it at. Should I add all the spell levels up? i'm keeping all the parameters of the spell the same, just combining the effects.

I thinkk I would put the first one at full level and then add .5 of the other spells level to it.

it really depends.

The DMG suggests you add all spell levels up then +1 for combinging them.

What you describe is a +4 to Strength, Dex and Con.

Irrespective of the original levels, such a spell sounds like a 6th/7th level spell to me.

I would probably make it 6th level but only because people usually buy stat improvers and your spell of some kind and such a spell would not 'stack' with them.

well since they are all level 2 spells that have been nerverd (old versions could be empowered - sometimes twice and maximized and had a longer duration. (I really miss the 1d4. Make it a level 4 or five spell. Level 4 if you decrease the duration to 1 round per level 5 if you dont change it.

If it helps, the psionic version increases its equivalent spell level by 2.5 for each extra ability you buff.

So having it increase three stats at once costs as much as a 7th level power.

5th level would actually be more appropriate for a spell of this sort since it only affects one person and is not really game breaking in anyway. 4th level if it's a 1 round/level duration.

Compare this to spells such as Divine Power (4th), Animal Growth (5th) Righteous Might (5th), and the Mass versions of Bull's Strength and friends (6th). Divine Power is a 4th level spell and grants fairly superior benefits to the proposed spell's effect. Animal Growth and Righteous Might both confer similar benefits with other kickers to boot. The Mass versions confer their benefits upon a multitude of allies and this is at level 6.

Also note that by this point, most of the people who prioritize physical ability score have already got enhancements in other more permananent forms.

Draconomicon has a similar spell, Draconic Might. This spell, Wiz5, Pal4, grants a +5 enhancement bonus (notable for being one of the very rare odd bonuses) to Strength, Constitution, and Charisma, and it grants a few extra benefits, such as a +4 enhancement bonus to natural armor and immunity to magical sleep and paralysis effects. With that as a comparison, I'd have to say that a +4 to three stats spell without a lagniappe would be a 4th level spell, and a +4 to 2 stats would be a 3rd.
