05-10-05, 04:14 AM can someone activate a command word item that someone else is holding? spose someone has a bag of marbels that are command word activated and throws fireball once. can the BBEG then say the command word and caboom?

If a magic item is not in your possession then you can not activate it. Possession of an item can be mental-spiritual like in the Orb of Oblivion, but those items have unique rules specified in the descriptive text.
