I know I can talk to my DM about it actually working, but what I was wondering is how would YOU descript it with flavor? If it matters, the reason I'm asking is that I have a gnome cleric, with domains magic and trickery. He started training as a cleric of glittergold, but had a love for magic that drove him away. He has done some studying of Boccob, but can't dedicate himself to that deity either. He respects both, but doesn't follow either. So would a deity-less cleric call upon certain deities for certain information or would they just call upon some ambiguous being. |

This deity grows in power with each "goddless cleric" and with each priest who falls from grace or fails in faith. But more direct to your question, I would rule that goddless clerics cannot use any spell that explicitly references their deity as the source. This includes commune. |
