Okay, I have to ask.

Which Community Domain spell list below is correct (or should I say, appropriate)?

According to Deities & Demigods:
1. Bless
2. Shield Other
3. Prayer
4. Status
5. Rary's Telepathic Bond
6. Heroes' Feast
7. Refuge
8. Heal, Mass
9. Miracle

According to 3.5e Update Booklet (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/dnd/20030718a):
1. Bless
2. Status
3. Prayer
4. Status, Greater
5. Rary's Telepathic Bond
6. Heroes' Feast
7. Refuge
8. Sympathy
9. Heal, Mass

According to Complete Divine:
1. Bless
2. Status
3. Prayer
4. Tongues
5. Rary's Telepathic Bond
6. Heroes' Feast
7. Refuge
8. Mordenkainen's Magnificent Mansion
9. Heal, Mass

Don't forget the City Domain from Races of Destiny! You don't have nearly enough options here. *cough*

Generally, the latest one is the "best" one. So CDiv, unless it got updated in Spell Compendium.

The newer one is not the best one, but the correct one.

the Complete Divine one matches the one from the Spell Compendium New books superceed older books as far as officiality is concerned.

Depends on which book you own. If you own all of them, the newest is the most correct.

If you are in an RPGA tournament, only the Spell Compendium version is relevant.

So... greater status spell no longer exist?

Ranger,

Did your younger brother grab hold of your account recently? You know the answers to these questions. I've seen you argue rules and even precedence/hierarchy of rules questions before.

What makes you think that the changing of a domain spell list would change make any of the spells no longer on the list suddenly cease to exist?

What makes you think that the changing of a domain spell list would change make any of the spells no longer on the list suddenly cease to exist?perhaps the fact that greater status has a spell level of Community 4, with no other classes or levels given.

personaly the spell looks fine to me (if a bit powerful for 4th level) I would probably add it to the normal cleric list as a 5th level spell.

Wes, it is folks like you (rational, consistent, deliberative) that give folks like me (brash, headstrong, careless) a bad name. :P

I can't object to that statement above, nor call it false. :P

I just needed clarification, is all. No need to go postal on me, Seeker95.

Probably the best bet if you want to make the domains consistent (something that didn't happen a lot in 3.0) is to go with the version from the Spell Compendium. Also, Cwslyclgh suggestion of making greater status a 5th-level spell in the general cleric list is a good one.

Of course, if you're the DM, you can choose which version of the domain you like best and go with that. Officiality be damned. :)

Note that the ECS also has a community domain (pg 105):

1. Bless
2. Status
3. Prayer
4. Status, Greater
5. Rary's
6. Heroes' Feast
7. Refuge
8. Sympathy
9. Heal, mass

So is that specific to Eberron while the Complete Divine/Spell Compendium version is appropriate for others? :thinks:

If you are in the RPGA, you use whatever campaign rules apply to your campaign.

And if I ask you which one spell list is appropriate for both Forgotten Realms/Faerun and Kara-Tur, you'd say...?

(Honestly, I'm seeking some recommendation, not a dismissal.)

I use Core Only by default, and Spell Compendium with spell-by-spell approval required. So my answer would be to use the Domain listed in the Spell Compendium.

And by "Core Only," do you mean the 3.5e update booklet or the lackluster Complete Divine (probably because the author didn't know about the booklet)?

By "Core Only" I mean PHB-DMG-MM.
Anything else is allowed on a mechanic-by-mechanic basis only.
No "entire books" allowed in my game.

Then ... you don't have Community domain. :uh-huh:

Ranger, what the hell does it matter whether I use it or not? You asked a question that you already know the answer to: use what you want, from whatever resource you have. You are not normally the kind of person who needs someone to spoon feed you anything. Are you really the same RangerREG who has in the past shown an ability to make decisions for his own game?

I'm human. Is that so shocking for you, a human asking for other people's recommendations or advice?

I'm not an all-knowing, enlightened deity (but I'm working my way up there).
