Since comprehend languages specifies it can only allow understanding of spoken and written languages, am I correcting in assuming that would make handspeech impossible to decipher with the spell, or a helm of comprehend languages? |

| black dragon karameikos03-21-05, 07:50 PM | You are absolutely correct  |
| Shima03-22-05, 02:51 AM | You understand every spoken word the description says. So no hand speech, gestures, eye blink etc. You wouldnt understand things that wouldnt relate to words either, like some buzzing insect communication. Remember something too: I had forgot to check the description of the spell in 3.5. The player who got his hands on that helm in the first dungeon they went gave some troubles. ( I always respect the rool of the dice on items) So anyone he hears he understand. That means he can peek in any conversation : / Anyway, now the spell requires you to touch the person you want to understand, and touch the writings. Wich balance everything out. Now you cant spy with it anymore then read the signs of the inns in a foreign town. |
