We are exploring a dark temple and suddenly we notice a shadow moving in the dark. We can see a silhouette and the DM rules this is a 20% Concealment. Attacking with range attack (my crossbow) misses if I roll 1-20 on a d100 Attacking with melee attack (my morningstar) misses if I roll 1-20 on a d100 Attacking with scorching ray misses if I roll 1-20 on a d100 What about magic missile? Auto hit or still a Concealment? If it is autohit what happens if I'm blind and decide to shoot at one square (Listen check tells me there is somebody there) is auto-hit too or do I get the ususal 50%? |

So if they are invisible/have total concealment/ you are blind, then you can not use Magic missile against them. Also, if you read the spell, you will see the answer to your question: The missile strikes unerringly, even if the target is in melee combat or has less than total cover or total concealment. |
